Part-Time Instructor, Economics, Fall 2025

About the role

The Department of Economics, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark, Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), seeks part-time instructors (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for the Fall 2025 semester to teach economics surveys and upper-level courses focused on specific themes or topics.

Responsibilities

• Preparing course material
• Creating and posting a course syllabus
• Presenting material during the assigned course times
• Holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students
• Responding to student emails
• Conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means, in a timely manner
• Submitting final grades

Requirements

Courses may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination of these, based on the academic needs of the department.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Economics or a related field, and relevant teaching experience.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in using educational technology tools are essential.
