About the role
Lakeland Community College seeks an instructor to provide in-person, on-campus instruction in Basic Economics (ECON 1150) and student support to College Credit Plus (CCP) students taking a Lakeland Community College course on the campus of Mentor High School.
Responsibilities
- Teach in-person, on-campus Basic Economics (ECON 1150) lectures and/or labs.
- Provide academic support to CCP students enrolled in the course.
- Ensure students understand the American economic system and its implications.
- Avoid enrolling students who have taken or are currently taking ECON 2500 Principles of Macroeconomics or ECON 2600 Principles of Microeconomics.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (any discipline) and 18 graduate credit hours in economics or a closely related field (either as part of the degree or additional work beyond the degree).
- Ph.D., Economics preferred.
- Some experience teaching college-level basic economics classes.
- Experience teaching college-level basic economics classes in a community college setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (any discipline) and 18 graduate credit hours in economics or a closely related field (either as part of the degree or additional work beyond the degree).
- Ph.D., Economics ideal.
- Minimum work experience: Some experience teaching college-level basic economics classes.
Skills
- Ability to teach college-level economics courses.
- Experience working with College Credit Plus (CCP) students.
- Strong communication skills.

Pay
- Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
