Position Overview

The Department of Anthropology at Rutgers University–New Brunswick is seeking a part-time instructor to teach a 200-level course, Anthropology of the Middle East, during the Spring 2026 semester. This role includes preparing and delivering course material, holding office hours, grading assignments and exams, and submitting final grades. Instruction may be required in-person, online, hybrid, or at off-campus locations depending on departmental needs.

Teaching Schedule

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00–3:30 PM (fixed schedule)

Qualifications

  • MA, ABD, or PhD in Anthropology or a closely related field.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.

Salary and Benefits

  • Minimum of $2,777 per credit. Final salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, and departmental funding.
