Responsibilities

• Work with faculty and staff in any teaching modality (online, hybrid, remote, flex) to analyze, design, and develop content, activities, assessments, courses, and processes using a blend of pedagogy and technology grounded in learning theory, instructional design practices, and quality assurance rubrics.
• Provide consultations and serve as a resource on learning outcomes, course modality, high-impact learning practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility, content creation, assessment strategies, and other instructional design or technology concerns.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and recommend revisions to ensure courses meet expected learning outcomes, best practices, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement measurement and evaluation strategies to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of learning solutions on performance.
• Consult on and monitor fair use, copyright, regular substantive interaction, and accessibility in digital environments.
• Demonstrate curiosity and expertise in emerging educational technologies, discerning the best tools for specific use cases.
• Utilize advanced computing and technology skills, including complex applications, to support instructional design.
• Communicate complex technological concepts clearly to diverse audiences through advanced written, presentation, and training skills.
• Write concise, creative, and effective instructional materials.
• Collaborate with external partners and other departments on projects, institutional initiatives, and committee work.
• Work independently with minimal direction, managing projects from concept to implementation and providing progress reporting.
• Manage multiple tasks, set priorities, adhere to deadlines, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to the overall success of the Department of Online & E-Learning by performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field with three or more years of relevant experience (a Doctorate with at least one year of experience will be considered).
• Two or more years of online or hybrid teaching experience is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), third-party web tools, social media applications, publisher-provided digital content, and multimedia development.
• Experience with HTML/CSS.
• Familiarity with the following applications is strongly preferred: Canvas, Respondus, Adobe Creative Suite, ARC, Camtasia, iSpring, and Snagit.
• Ability to consult and monitor fair use and copyright in digital environments.
