Part-Time Instructional Aide
Job Summary
Ste. Genevieve du Bois Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and supportive Instructional Aide to assist teachers in creating a positive, faith-filled learning environment. The Instructional Aide supports classroom instruction, student supervision, and daily classroom operations while helping students achieve academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. This position works closely with teachers and school staff to support the mission of Catholic education and student success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation.
- Provide support to individual students and small groups to reinforce classroom learning objectives.
- Aid in classroom management and promote positive student behavior.
- Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and displays as directed by the teacher.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during school activities as assigned.
- Aid students with assignments, projects, and classroom tasks.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Perform clerical tasks including copying, filing, organizing materials, and maintaining records as needed.
- Foster Christian values and support the mission and philosophy of the school.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, staff, and parents.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student and school information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or principal.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate degree or coursework in Education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or related setting preferred.
- A commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to support student learning and classroom instruction.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with children.
- Basic proficiency with classroom technology and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions
- Work/school environment with frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- May require standing, walking, and active supervision throughout the school day.
- Occasional participation in school events and activities.
