Part-Time Histotechnician

Role: Histotechnician responsible for processing human tissue and fluid specimens for microscopic analysis, producing histopathological slides, and performing immunohistochemical tests. Key Duties: Sectioning embedded tissues, staining procedures, embedding surgical specimens, preparing reagents, operating and maintaining manual and automated instruments, documenting quality control and equipment maintenance, and ensuring accurate test reporting to support patient care. Qualifications: Associates in Histology or high school diploma with 5+ years of histology experience; 1+ year in a similar role. Preferred Skills: Experience with histology, immunohistochemistry, and relevant certifications (e.g., ASCP). Additional Standards: Familiarity with histology procedures, high-volume lab work, SOPs, safety protocols, and the ability to read labels accurately. Must pass color blindness test. Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of embedding both large and small specimens, and experienced with laboratory instrumentation and documentation.
