Part-Time Handyman / Home Service Technician – Austin, TX

TruBlue Westlake is launching in Austin, and we're hiring skilled Part-Time Handymen who want steady, flexible work without the full-time commitment. This is a great fit for semi-retired tradesmen, experienced contractors between projects, or skilled craftsmen who want reliable hours around another commitment.

What You'll Do

• Perform high-quality home repair and maintenance projects across multiple trades
• Represent TruBlue in customers' homes — clear communication, respectful conduct, clean work
• Walk customers through completed work, take before-and-after photos, and document jobs accurately
• Diagnose issues and propose the right solution for the customer
• Maintain your tools and job materials in clean, professional condition
• Uphold TruBlue's high standard of quality, safety, and customer care on every visit

Common Projects Include

• Bathroom and kitchen upgrades
• Drywall repair and finishing
• Flooring installation and repair
• General carpentry — trim, molding, built-ins
• Interior and exterior painting
• Basic plumbing and electrical work
• Tile installation and repair
• Door and window repair
• Deck, fence, and gate repair
• Senior safety upgrades — grab bars, ramps, accessible fixtures

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on residential home repair, remodeling, or general construction experience
• Broad multi-trade skill set with strong carpentry foundation
• Strong customer communication skills — comfortable in customers' homes
• Comfortable using a smartphone for photos and scheduling apps
• Punctual, dependable, honest, and professional in appearance and behavior
• Valid Texas driver's license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and full toolset
• Fluent in English; bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Willing to complete background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen
