Part-Time-Hamilton Lab- Research Assistant
The Schatz Center for Tree Molecular Genetics in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management currently has openings for a part-time research assistant.
Duties
- Setting up and maintaining experiments in the lab, greenhouses, or field.
- Processing plant material for sequencing, including DNA extractions and gel electrophoresis.
- Data collection and entry from field and greenhouse studies.
- Maintenance of field and greenhouse research plots.
- Organizing lab equipment, supplies, and shared lab spaces.
- Attention to detail and following instructions.
- Ability to work independently and within a group.
Requirements
- Interest in plant biology, geography, and the environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Completion of a motor vehicle records check.
- Ability to work in various environments, including outdoors.
- Able to carry equipment or supplies for greenhouse/field experiments (up to 50lb) with or without accommodation.
Qualifications
- Full-time registered Penn State undergraduate student preference.
Skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
