Part-Time-Hamilton Lab- Research Assistant

The Schatz Center for Tree Molecular Genetics in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management currently has openings for a part-time research assistant.

Duties

• Setting up and maintaining experiments in the lab, greenhouses, or field.
  • Processing plant material for sequencing, including DNA extractions and gel electrophoresis.
  • Data collection and entry from field and greenhouse studies.
  • Maintenance of field and greenhouse research plots.
  • Organizing lab equipment, supplies, and shared lab spaces.
• Attention to detail and following instructions.
• Ability to work independently and within a group.

Requirements

• Interest in plant biology, geography, and the environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Completion of a motor vehicle records check.
• Ability to work in various environments, including outdoors.
• Able to carry equipment or supplies for greenhouse/field experiments (up to 50lb) with or without accommodation.

Qualifications

• Full-time registered Penn State undergraduate student preference.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
