Part Time - Grocery Clerk

About the role

The Grocery Clerk ensures an exceptional customer experience by providing excellent service, assisting customers with product inquiries, and recommending items. They maintain a clean, safe environment, check product quality, and ensure proper labeling, stocking, and inventory management. The role involves adhering to food safety standards, maintaining temperature logs, and staying knowledgeable about products to answer customer questions effectively.

Responsibilities

• Help customers discover and select products, including specials and new items.
• Monitor product freshness and quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory merchandise accurately.
• Report discrepancies and assist with inventory management.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain proper temperatures, and support safety programs.
• Engage with customers to create a welcoming environment and assist individuals with special needs.
• Inspect equipment, notify management of repairs, and report accidents.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage conflicts professionally, and act with honesty and integrity.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Retail experience is preferred

Pay

$17.20 – $26.05 per hour
