Role Overview: The Grocery Clerk is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by assisting shoppers, recommending products, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. They support sales and profit goals, ensure product freshness, and adhere to food safety standards. Key Responsibilities Assist customers with product inquiries, recommend items, and inform them of specials.Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and ensure proper storage temperatures.Label, stock, and inventory merchandise, reporting discrepancies to management.Maintain knowledge of products, respond to customer questions, and create a welcoming environment.Follow safety procedures, conduct equipment inspections, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.Handle conflict professionally, act with honesty and integrity, and support diverse customer needs. Qualifications & Skills Strong customer service and effective communication skills.Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage conflicts constructively.Experience in retail and customer service preferred.
