Part Time Greeter

Greeters perform various customer service activities, including welcoming all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information and direction, distributing promotional materials, and other front-end tasks to support business needs. Greeters are expected to deliver an exceptional customer service experience, ensuring customers feel welcomed and appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Actively promote programs including CLUB Membership (US only), VOC, and In-Store Pickup.
• Model brand-standard customer service by adhering to the dress code (green logo shirt for Bass Pro Shops or tan logo shirt for Cabela’s), wearing a visible name badge, and maintaining a professional appearance with a smile, eye contact, and welcoming body language.
• Check in all customers’ merchandise for returns.
• Check in all vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and manage visitor badges.
• Inform customers about special events, sales, or promotions, and distribute promotional materials.
• Ensure the entryway and surrounding work area remain clean, tidy, and safe for customers and staff.
• Assist with customer check-in of firearms/weapons by notifying the appropriate trained staff (Greeters do not handle firearms).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum).

Skills

• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptability to new processes and procedures.
• Self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly walks and stands.
• Occasionally performs computer work and lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Seldom to never sits.
• Constantly communicates with others to exchange information.
• Constantly repeats motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Occasionally works in low or high temperatures, outdoor elements (precipitation, wind), and noisy environments.
• Light work involving constant movement and lifting objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally moves and lifts objects up to 100 pounds or more (with team assistance).
