Part-time Greeter

About the Role

The Greeter performs various customer service activities, including greeting all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information and direction to customers, distributing promotional materials, and other front-end tasks to support business needs. Greeters are expected to smile and be friendly and outgoing with every guest, ensuring customers feel welcomed and appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Actively promotes programs including but not limited to CLUB Membership (US only), VOC, and In-Store Pickup.
• Models brand standards for customer service by presenting a professional image, adhering to the dress code (green logo shirt for Bass Pro Shops or tan logo shirt for Cabela’s), wearing a visible name badge, and maintaining welcoming body language.
• Checks in all customers’ merchandise for returns.
• Checks in all vendor representatives, completing necessary visitor log information and controlling visitor badges.
• Remains aware of all “Special events” in the store and informs customers of event details, sales, or promotions; provides promotional materials.
• Ensures the entryway and surrounding work area remain clean, tidy, and safe for customers and staff.
• Assists with customer check-in of firearms/weapons by notifying the appropriate trained staff to complete the guest check-in per company SOP. Note: Greeters should never accept, possess, or handle a firearm while performing their duties.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
• Experience in a customer service environment.

Skills

• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptability to new processes and procedures.
• Self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly walks and stands; occasionally performs computer work.
• Lifts up to 50 pounds; occasionally moves and lifts objects up to 100 pounds or more (team lift may be required).
• Constantly communicates with others to exchange information.
• Constantly repeats motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Occasionally works in low or high temperatures, outdoor elements (e.g., precipitation, wind), or noisy environments.
• Light work involving constant movement and lifting objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $17.13 - $18.75 per hour.
