Part Time Food Service Worker - Iron Springs Elementary

About the role

Iron Springs Elementary School is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Worker to support the day-to-day preparation and delivery of school food service to students. This role works 15 hours per week in a valued and community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food daily in the cafeteria.
• Utilize various recipes, proportions, and recipe contents according to estimated serving needs.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, graters, choppers, steam tables, and ovens to prepare, cook, and serve meals.
• Wash dishes and equipment, and assist in work area clean-up.
• Prepare food according to the planned menu, uniform recipes, and quality standards.
• Prepare a variety of meals under the direction of the Food Service Manager.
• Set up food serving lines and control food line activity to ensure orderly and efficient meal service.
• Store and care for food in accordance with health guidelines.
• Accept money, tickets, or other forms of payment for food and beverage service as assigned.
• Perform all necessary cleaning for the operation of the lunch program.
• Take and record food temperatures daily.

Requirements

• Basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Google Docs and frequent email use.
• Willingness to learn and use all required computer systems and software.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.

Schedule

15 hours per week.
