Schedule
Part time, approximately 20 hours weekly. Requires full availability weekdays 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM and weekends 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to clinics between Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, Daytona, Port Orange, New Smyrna, Deland, Orange City, and surrounding areas (mileage support provided)
- Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives
- Prepare, process, and file the medical record for each patient as required for documentation by physician and medical personnel
- Demonstrate core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork
- Drive customer service initiatives by creating and owning the patient experience
- Answer telephone, respond to patient questions/concerns to ensure prompt and accurate resolution, and handle various job tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrate age-specific communication skills for patients with the ability to assess and interpret relevant data
- Communicate with the patient or their guarantor to obtain demographic, employment, insurance, and current medical condition information for accurate registration
- Obtain client information for worker’s comp and corporate accounts, and verify authorization and service(s) requested
- Verify insurance eligibility and determine accurate up-front collection amount
- Request and collect co-pays and outstanding balances
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively
- Ability to operate a computer, copier, fax, and scanner
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds
- Exceptional customer service/patient experience skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with people of various backgrounds
- Ability to meet departmental goals and objectives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Working knowledge of EMR systems
- High School Graduate or Equivalent (Required)
Qualifications
- Phlebotomy skills (Preferred)
- Knowledge of employee health clinic environment (Preferred)
- Previous use of an EMR (Preferred)
- General knowledge of medical terminology, coding/billing (Preferred)
- Previous customer service experience (Preferred)
- Prior pediatric experience (for Kids Urgent Care Centers) (Preferred)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (Preferred)
Pay
$15.69 - $25.10 per hour
