Part-Time Flight Dispatcher
About the role
This position is an in-person, part-time, up-to 19-hour appointment based at the Institute of Aviation at Parkland College located at Willard Airport in Savoy, Illinois. Applications accepted until the position is filled.
Essential Job Functions
- Scheduling | Schedule flights with students and instructors, manage online computer scheduling, and coordinate flight times.
- Customer Service | Greet instructors and students, answer communications, and handle inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Inventory Management | Manage aircraft inventory, ensure proper maintenance, and track equipment usage.
- Communication | Communicate with pilots by radio, email or phone to relay information to ground personnel and coordinate flight operations.
- Administrative Tasks | Maintain and update flight records, track student progress, and process necessary paperwork.
- Problem Solving | Handle and coordinate all instructors and student requests in a timely manner, addressing issues and finding solutions.
- Adherence to Policies | Follow established procedures and guidelines, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices of the Institute and Parkland College.
Minimum Requirements
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Background Check
Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act.
