SCHEELS is a leading sporting goods retailer committed to creating the best experience for customers. As a Firearms Sales Associate, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all paperwork for firearm sales, including form 4473, licensing, and background checks, are completed accurately and thoroughly.
• Evaluate and appraise firearms for resale.
• Exercise good judgment when interacting with customers during firearm purchases.
• Show a well-rounded knowledge of the firearm industry, including ammunition, reloading, and optics.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Must be legally able to own a firearm.
• Stop straw purchases.

Requirements

• Greet customers with courtesy and a smile.
• Grow personal sales by hitting minimum goals and providing excellent customer service.
• Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and explain its benefits.
• Engage in conversations with customers to assist them in making buying decisions.
• Demonstrate a passion for products in the store.
• Absorb and apply knowledge from company training and store meetings.
• Perform basic math, read and understand simple instructions, and write simple correspondence.
• Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all levels of the organization.
• Help with freight/stocking when needed.
• Retrieve product from heights greater than 6 ft.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• One to three months of cashiering experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

• Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Pay

$12.00 per hour. ($17.00-$22.00 average combined hourly + commission)
