Part-time Faculty: Welding Instructor
Faculty Responsibilities
- Instruct courses in areas of competency
- Select texts, supplemental documents, and other learning resources
- Set attainable instructional goals and objectives
- Evaluate students to determine progress and assign final grades
- Maintain a minimum of ten (10) posted office hours per week
Course and Curriculum Development
- Recommend revisions, deletions, or additions to courses or curricula
- Evaluate and recommend revisions to the college catalog and support materials
- Maintain updated course outlines and develop course syllabi
Service to the College, Profession, and Community
- Stay current with the field(s) of assigned instruction and related occupational areas
- Acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials
- Participate in accreditation processes and college, division, and department committees and meetings
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of industry experience as a welder or welding trainer
- AWS Certification or Credential
- Experience teaching or leading relevant training in industry

About the Role
Founded in 1967, Lakeland Community College now serves more than 5,000 students annually and provides a continuum of education, from offering college credit courses for high school students to preparing students for the workforce upon completion of certificates, associate degrees or transfer to a four-year institution. We are seeking an instructor who will be responsible for the classroom instruction, maintaining course records, grading, program curriculum and course curriculum. This will include working with other full-time and part-time faculty at the college to make modifications and changes to best prepare our graduates for either further study or to enter the workforce.
