Position Summary

North Seattle College is seeking innovative and dedicated faculty members who have demonstrated a commitment to working collaboratively within a diverse and inclusive college community. The faculty will teach a variety of upper- and lower-level courses for the Associate and Bachelor’s degree Accounting programs. Courses include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, International Accounting, Tax Accounting, Not-for-Profit Accounting, Ethics, and Bookkeeping.

Specific Teaching Assignments

Courses will vary based on the instructor's background. Successful candidates will be able to teach in various formats such as in-class, hybrid, online, and flexible class times including days and evenings as per program needs.

Salary Range

The salary range for part-time faculty is $7,110.33 - $10,649.33 (P1: A1- E7).

  • Provide high-quality instruction using effective teaching strategies that support diverse student populations and promote student learning.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support academic success.
  • Ensure course materials are accessible to students in compliance with digital accessibility standards.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Utilize appropriate educational technologies and communication tools to support teaching, learning, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Uphold the mission and values of Seattle Colleges by supporting student achievement and contributing to a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain and submit required documentation such as course information, academic credentials, and professional references as part of the application and employment process.

What You Bring as a Candidate

  • An understanding of the goals and role of the community college
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach multiple levels of Accounting
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution
  • Professional Industry certification (e.g., CPA, CFE, CA, etc.)
  • A demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse and inclusive college community that serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds
  • Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and willingness to be proficient in Canvas Learning Management System prior to the beginning of teaching assignment

Physical Demands and Disability Accommodation

The candidate will work in an office and classroom environment and use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of an office or classroom. The candidate will encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The candidate is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
