Part-Time Faculty - Languages & Adult Basic Education (Central)

About the role

Teach Languages & Adult Basic Education related coursework as a part‑time faculty member. Positions are hired on an “as needed” basis for the duration of the specified course and are not current vacancies. Assignments may include evening and weekend classes. Continuing & Professional Development (CPD) programs operate on any San Jacinto College campus and off‑site locations.

Schedule

Assignments are scheduled as needed; a portion of the teaching load may be in the evenings and possibly on weekends.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; relevant experience teaching ESL, languages, or Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in the discipline, or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline; prior experience teaching Languages & Adult Basic Education coursework in higher education; experience with international students; Texas teaching certification.

Pay

Salary Grade: AH. Salary is based on the Board‑approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year (see Salary Schedule).
