Part-Time Faculty, Environment Technologies (Non-Credit)

Basic Functions
This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time faculty (up to 67%) or temporary substitute assignments on an as-needed basis. Applications are accepted continually, and departments will refer to the pool as needed to fill temporary assignments. Applicants will remain in the pool for 12 months.

Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Any bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional experience, OR
- Any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience, OR
- Equivalent qualifications (see Faculty Equivalency Qualifications process).
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Environmental hazardous material technology
- Hazardous material abatement
- Environmentally conscious manufacturing
- Wastewater pretreatment
- Air pollution control technology
- Integrated waste management
- Water treatment
- Sewage treatment
Qualifications
- Desired Preferences:
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification
- Knowledge of chemicals to deodorize water and other liquids
- Knowledge of adjusting controls on equipment to purify and clarify water
- Knowledge of collecting and testing water and sewage samples
- Understanding of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances, and chemical processes
- Ability to create lesson plans
- Knowledge of curriculum standards and guidelines
