Position Summary

The Seattle Colleges are looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.

Successful applicants may be invited to interview at North Seattle College. Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background, scheduling, and available courses.

What you will be working on

  • Provide high-quality instruction using effective teaching strategies that support diverse student populations and promote student learning.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support academic success.
  • Ensure course materials are accessible to students in compliance with digital accessibility standards.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance instructional skills and stay current in the field.
  • Engage in collaborative work with colleagues, including participation in departmental and college-wide meetings, committees, and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Utilize appropriate educational technologies and communication tools to support teaching, learning, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Uphold the mission and values of Seattle Colleges by supporting student achievement and contributing to a positive learning environment.

What you bring as a candidate

  • Required:
    • Associate Degree or equivalent training in Electronics Technology or related field
    • Experience teaching or training
    • Evidence of collaborative work within an organization
    • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and the ability to work effectively with populations of diverse backgrounds and life experiences as outlined in your attached diversity statement
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using Office software when appropriate
  • PREFERRED:
    • Two years of work experience in the field of electronics
    • Experience with avionics, advanced manufacturing, healthcare technology management/biomedical equipment technology, mechatronics, industrial power, or IT-controlled electronics
    • Relevant industry recognized certifications and credentials
    • Successful teaching experience in higher education
    • Experience developing curriculum and program development in a variety of formats, including online, hybrid and face-to-face
    • Experience assessing course work or training and student/participant achievement
    • Experience working in a cooperative environment and collaborating with industry organizations and/or employers

    Background Check Statement
