Part-Time Faculty: Banking Law, School of Law

Fordham Law School invites applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach a Law course in Bankruptcy Law. The course should combine theory and current legal practice.

Responsibilities

  • Teach an engaging course at the Law School exploring legal issues in Bankruptcy, including:
    • In-depth analysis of statutes, regulations, and practice-oriented documents
    • The major players in U.S. bankruptcy cases and the nature of their interests
    • The broad contours of the Bankruptcy Code
    • Key policy issues in consumer finance regulation
    • Statutory interpretation and client counseling
  • Develop a thirteen-week syllabus covering essential topics within Bankruptcy Law
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment conducive to critical thinking, discussion, and debate
  • Shape a set of learning objectives for students to master by the end of the course
  • Evaluate and grade student performance in alignment with appropriate grading curves, providing constructive feedback

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree with a specialization in Bankruptcy Law
  • Prior teaching experience preferred

Pay

$2,000–$15,000 per course (by semester), based on credits, experience, and practice area.
