Description
Foothills Infectious Disease Medical Group is a well-established specialty group in the East San Gabriel Valley of Southern California. We manage a diverse array of infectious disease conditions and offer OPAT infusion services to a large geographical area. We are currently seeking an experienced, part-time Medical Scribe to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Aid the physician in creating the highest level of efficiency and productivity in documenting patient visits.
- Create and enter data into patient’s electronic record accurately, while reviewing and referring to other documents in the patient’s chart.
- Transcribe patient histories and vital signs.
- Document clinical assessment, medications, allergies, and complete SOAP notes as described by physician, for each patient encounter.
- Assist in the management of lab order entry and electronic medication prescribing and refills.
- Other duties as assigned by Practice Manager and Physician(s).
Qualifications and Experience
- Medical Student or graduate of an accredited Medical School, strongly preferred; OR Medical Scribe Certification, preferred.
- High school diploma or GED certificate, REQUIRED.
- In-depth knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months experience as a medical scribe, preferred.
- Working knowledge of EHR systems, especially Office Ally, preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in typing, including a typing speed of 50-60 wpm.
- Advanced computer and medical office technology experience.
- Strong attention and diligence to HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with physicians, patients, and medical office staff.
- Excellent time management skills.
Requirements
- Exceptional typing skills (50-60 wpm).
- Advanced proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of utilizing electronic medical records programs (Office Ally preferred).
- Ability to work closely and professionally with physicians, patients, and medical office staff.
- Strong attention and diligence to HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality.
- Ability to allow for flexible scheduling.
- Reliability is expected.
