Part-Time Equipment Operator II - Bus Driver.
Alamosa, Adams State University is a state-supported institution in the San Luis Valley, South-central Colorado located two and a half hours north of Santa Fe, NM and four hours south of Denver, CO. The university is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution and is a regional education provider. The San Luis Valley is the largest alpine basin in North America, surrounded by the beautiful Sangre de Cristo and the San Juan Mountain Ranges.
About the role
This position will work part-time in the Facilities Services Department of Adams State University reporting to the Transportation Department. This work unit supports the agency activities by driving students and staff utilizing State Fleet Vehicles to and from events or activities needed by Adams State University. Provides a safe reliable transportation service for Adams State University. Work involves driving of commercial (CDL) and non-commercial vehicles for ASU events.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport participants/equipment/vehicles to official Adams State University functions and events.
- Provide excellent customer service and professionalism.
- Attend several overnight, multiple day athletic/program events.
- Abide by all driver safety, traffic laws, rules and regulations.
- Perform and provide logs on equipment and vehicle inspections (pre-trip) daily.
- Perform all inspections required by law and complete all documents as required.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
- Class B commercial license with a passenger endorsement.
- Must pass drug screening and DOT physicals.
- Must submit a copy of current Colorado Driver’s License, a CDL medical card, and a DMV record with your application.
- Must be a resident of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.
- Must be willing and able to meet the demands of the job which includes frequent bending, occasional lifting of approximately 50 pounds, and sitting for extensive durations.
