About the Role
The Improv Enrichment Specialist will collaborate with lead teachers to develop and implement an integrated curriculum using constructivist instructional methods tailored to each grade level. This role focuses on creating a healthy, safe, and respectful learning environment that supports student success, while fostering academic and socio-emotional growth for a diverse student population. The specialist will partner with lead teachers and parents to enhance student learning and adapt instructional strategies based on evaluation data.
Responsibilities
- Support the design of a rigorous, environmentally sensitive Improv program.
- Plan, prepare, and assist with lessons using a variety of constructivist instructional strategies.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse and individual needs of all students.
- Maintain high expectations for student learning and conduct.
- Assist lead teachers with instruction and subject matter integration in the general classroom.
- Participate in professional development and collaborate in a professional learning community.
- Support the creation and implementation of an interdisciplinary curriculum.
- Use multiple student learning outcomes to inform instructional practices.
- Adapt curriculum for individual and small group work to accommodate varying intellectual and artistic abilities.
- Develop authentic assessments of student progress and maintain records of learning.
- Plan and present student work exhibitions for the school and community.
- Create a safe, accepting, and interactive classroom environment.
- Implement social-emotional learning through the curriculum.
- Instruct students in the proper care and use of tools and equipment.
- Organize storage areas and manage materials, equipment, and tools efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with lead teachers on lesson plans, assessments, and progress reports.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Model ethical standards and maintain reliability, attendance, and punctuality.
- Adhere to school policies, procedures, and deadlines.
- Assist with before/afterschool carpool and other school programs as needed.

Physical Requirements
- Continual speaking and standing for extended periods.

- Work in environments with uneven surfaces, noise, and a fast pace.
- Respond effectively to stressful situations and unpredictable student behaviors.
- Frequent use of computer screens.
- Occasional outdoor work and exposure to inclement weather.
- Infrequent exposure to traffic congestion or biohazardous waste.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 3+ years of successful experience working with school-aged children.
- Familiarity with constructivist pedagogy.
- Enthusiasm for curriculum development to support a growing school program.
- TB test clearance and DOJ fingerprinting clearance.
- Valid child and adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
