Part-Time EMT

Role Overview The Center Medical Specialist is responsible for performing physical examinations, establishing donor medical histories, and evaluating donor suitability in a plasma donation setting. They build rapport with donors, ensure confidentiality, and provide health education and counseling on test results. The role includes managing donor injuries, assisting in employee training, and administering hepatitis vaccines. Key Responsibilities Conduct physical exams and assess donor healthEnsure donor safety and awareness of potential hazardsManage adverse events and injuriesEducate donors on health topics and test outcomesSupport staff training and vaccination programs Qualifications & Skills Certified or licensed as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical/Vocation Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT with CPR certificationAbility to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and fine motor movementsGood communication, observational skills, and ability to work independentlyAwareness of biological fluid exposure risks and use of personal protective equipment Key Attributes: Physical stamina, attention to detail, ability to adapt to variable demands, and excellent communication skills.
