About the role
Part-Time EMS EMT/AEMT and Paramedic Ambulance Technician positions are available with the Unified Fire Authority. These positions are paid on an hourly basis and staff ambulances at select fire stations within the service area.
Requirements
- Valid Utah State Driver's License
- Current Utah State EMT/AEMT or Paramedic License (must be in good standing and current with Utah Bureau of EMS)
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR provider certification (or equivalent approved by Utah Bureau of EMS)
- Paramedic: Current ACLS/PALS (or equivalent approved by Utah Bureau of EMS) required
- Successfully complete an EMS skills evaluation commensurate with your Utah state EMS license
- Available for a minimum of 48 hours each month. Shifts are 12-hour periods from 0900-2100 and from 0700-0700 for 24-hour shifts.
- Physically capable of lifting heavier objects up and down flights of stairs

- Pay Plan FY26/27:
- EMT/AEMT: Starting at $18.94/hour, increasing to $19.52 after 6 months, $20.11 after 1.5 years, and $20.68 after 2.5 years.
- Paramedic: Starting at $30.18/hour.

Interested applicants should submit all required certifications and licenses by Friday, July 17, 2026. An email will be sent with instructions for uploading documents. Following a thorough review, candidates will be invited to participate in the EMS Skills Evaluation, which will take place August 3-7, 2026. Interviews will follow, scheduled August 10-14, 2026.
Hiring Timeline and Training Dates
Selected candidates will be notified about the hiring timeline, including availability for all dates. Orientation will be held September 17, 2026, and training sessions will begin October 5, 2026, with specific dates for Admin Training, EMS Week, and Graduation.
