About the role
The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support transitioning Servicemen and women through its Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
Responsibilities
- Teach and instruct Military personnel on transitioning to civilian professional and vocational occupations.
- Guide transitioning Military Servicemembers in identifying their goals and recognizing employment or education gaps.
- Conduct large group instruction and provide individual counseling on the job search process.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or three (3) years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator.
- Knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirements for entry into those jobs.
- Demonstrated ability to provide training to groups with up to 50 participants; individual career counseling experience.
- Proficient in MS Windows and Office.
- Able to communicate effectively with Military clients, be comfortable instructing and speaking in front of a group, be observant of others, possess the ability to engage an audience, and respond to inquiries independently.
Qualifications
The ideal Employment Facilitator candidate would have prior experience teaching / instructing Military personnel transition to civilian professional and vocational occupations; demonstrated ability to provide training to groups with up to 50 participants; individual career counseling experience; proficiency in MS Windows and Office; and, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
Excellent time management skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
