Part-Time Emergency Department Care Associate

About the role

Provides patient care and support in the Emergency Department, including STAT specimen requests, patient discharge, transport, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

  • Performs EKGs, venipuncture, point-of-care testing (POCT), and patient observations under RN supervision.
  • Ensures patients are dressed, valuables are logged, and vital signs are monitored.
  • Utilizes hospital EMR for documentation, updates, and communication.
  • Maintains a safe, clean environment and answers phones professionally.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior Patient Care Associate (PCA) experience required.
  • Certifications in EKG, Phlebotomy, and CPR (to be obtained if not currently active).
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Key Duties

  • Support patient needs and perform basic clinical procedures.
  • Document accurately in the hospital EMR.
  • Assist with hospital activities to ensure quality patient care.
