Part Time Educator - Western Springs School District

Right At School is currently hiring for recess positions working with the Western Springs School District. We provide before and after school extended day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment to support the success of all students.

About the role

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about inspiring a love of learning and creating safe, engaging experiences for children. Our ideal candidates will have outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills, at least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age, and a drive to promote healthy living.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure children are enjoying themselves while meeting program goals by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management. Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols.
• Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Available to work all five days for one or both shifts.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must meet state-specific requirements, including a First Aid and CPR certification and a tuberculosis test.

Pay

$15-$18/hour (based on education and experience)

Mon-Fri: 11:15am-12:45pm
