Part Time Educator - Santa Monica/ Malibu School District

About the role

Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs focusing on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment. The mission is to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and provide peace of mind to families.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children enjoy themselves while meeting program goals.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow safety protocols.
• Communication: Effective communication with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age preferred.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements.
• Cleared tuberculosis test and health screening.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• 18+ years of age.
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required.
• LiveScan fingerprint background check cleared.
• Completed 48 units at an institution of higher learning; OR Obtained an Associate's (or higher) degree; OR Must pass the District's Instructional Assistant written examination.
