Part Time Educator - Grayslake School District

About the role

Educator Right At School provides before and after school extended day programs in Grayslake IL area schools. The position focuses on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment to support the success of all students.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Maintain a Safe and Nurturing Environment: Ensure children are enjoying themselves while meeting program goals through positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. Document attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Effective Communication: Communicate with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel. Exhibit outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least six months of experience working with children 5-13 years of age in a formal group childcare setting (preferred)
• Ability to meet state-specific requirements
• First Aid and CPR-in-person (ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Cleared tuberculosis test (ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Proof of MMR (documentation can be provided)
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children under 13 years of age in a childcare/school setting

Monday - Friday, 1:45 pm-6:00 pm

Pay

$15-$18/hour (based on education and experience)
