Job Description

Right At School – a place to be a kid! Educator at Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment. Our mission is to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind by building a team of mission-driven individuals passionate about fostering a love of learning and creating safe, engaging experiences for children.

About the role

We aim to bring exceptional, affordable programs to as many students, families, and schools as possible while providing a safe environment for children to explore and grow. Educators at Right At School earn a pay rate of $15.00-$18.00 per hour, based on education and experience. Program hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 9:30am and 3:30pm to 6:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the mission by leading daily program meetings to review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and ensure team accountability.
  • Organize and facilitate daily activities, preparing activities and curriculum that align with program objectives and are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management, monitoring the environment, addressing potential hazards, and following all safety protocols.
  • Prioritize safety and joy by documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
  • Communicate effectively with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to meet state-specific requirements.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Cleared tuberculosis test.
  • Proof of MMR vaccination.
  • 18+ years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED.
