About The Role

We are looking for a Part-time Educator who can facilitate Museums of Tolerance (MOT) programs to middle and high school students on the topics of antisemitism, the Holocaust, the Civil Rights Movement, digital media literacy, and other human rights issues. You will be predominantly managing and conducting digital media literacy workshops in Palm Beach County 5th-12 grade classrooms and occasionally on board the Mobile Museums of Tolerance in school communities across Florida. We will rely on you to find ways to continuously improve the educational experience the Museums of Tolerance provides and to maintain positive relationships with institutions bringing MOT's educational offerings to their communities.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to Palm Beach County schools for classroom MMOT programming focusing on digital media literacy and alongside the Florida Mobile Museums of Tolerance to different schools and communities throughout Florida.
  • Communicate with driver/operator to ensure smooth operation of MMOT before, during, and after visits.
  • Facilitate MMOT programs at libraries and other community sites/interacting with visitors of all ages.
  • Respond to questions from schools/community sites about programming and daily schedules for upcoming visits.
  • Facilitate existing programming in an engaging and interactive manner.
  • Assist the Education Team on creating and providing feedback on modules, educational resources, and teachers' guides.
  • Report any MMOT maintenance requirements or malfunctions that occur.
  • Notify leadership of concerns or issues that occur during an activation.
  • Collect and communicate program/workshop data and evaluation results as well as contribute to data analysis with both regional and national MMOT staff.
  • Provide input and guidance in gathering data and experience-driven improvement strategies for modules and educational materials.
  • Input visit statistics into regional data tracker in a timely manner.
  • Submit Expense Reports as needed.
  • Manage personal travel and (accommodated) lodging arrangements.
  • Attend weekly Regional Team Meetings.

Requirements

  • Reside in Palm Beach County Florida.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and vehicle.
  • Have at least 1 year of teaching and/or facilitation experience.
  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Possess a self-starting attitude, be ready to seize opportunities, and make an impact without oversight or specific instruction.
  • Timely problem-solving skills to tackle emergencies, unintended delays, and/or changes in the schedule.
  • The ability to help create and honor a safe and collaborative culture with consistent communication to colleagues and employees at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
