About the role

Saint Andrew School, located in Chicago’s Lakeview/Roscoe Village neighborhood, is part of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s network of 154 elementary and high schools serving more than 40,000 students. The school is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Education Aide to support its early childhood program. The aide will work closely with classroom teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for the youngest students.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily routines, activities, and transitions.
• Provide attentive supervision and support to young children throughout the school day.
• Assist students with age‑appropriate personal care and classroom needs.
• Help prepare materials and learning activities.
• Support a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Encourage positive social interactions and age‑appropriate independence.
• Assist with arrival, dismissal, lunch/snack, rest time, and other daily routines as needed.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with students, families, and staff.
• Follow all school policies and procedures related to student safety, supervision, and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with young children preferred.
• Ability to work positively and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and responsible.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a calm and positive environment for young children.

Pay

Hourly range: $21.00 – $23.00. Pay within the range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
