Part Time Driver Trainee

About the role

This position supports other roles at the location while actively pursuing a CDL. A CDL must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Once a CDL is obtained and all required documentation is complete, the employee will transition to the Driver/Operation position with an appropriate pay increase.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outbound and inbound Agronomy products.
• Ensure safety compliance.
• Assist in equipment maintenance.
• Assist in housekeeping and maintenance of facility grounds, including mowing, spraying weeds, and moving snow.
• Communicate daily activities, needs, and accomplishments to management.
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• May assist in measuring inventory of dry fertilizer, NH3, UAN, and other chemicals.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED; may be offset by experience.
• Pursuing a Class A or B CDL preferred, or Ag CDL, with required endorsements.
• Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
• Required overtime as the season demands.

Skills

• Prior ag experience a plus.
• Basic mechanical skills for daily maintenance of equipment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and judgment skills.
• Positive attitude, high energy, and focused attention to detail.
• High sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service and team player attitude.
• Territory and agriculture knowledge is a plus.
