About the role
Serves in delivery and errand capacity for South Bend Community Re-Entry Center. This work primarily involves driving work release participants to and from events and places of employment.
Responsibilities
- Checks oil, gas, etc., ensures the cleanliness of the vehicle, and also limits carpool care
- Performs local delivery and pick up of participants on and off the grounds
- Performs occasional delivery and pick up out of town
- Drives work release participants/residents to and from events and transports them to their places of employment
- Maintain mileage trip tickets for vehicles
- Follows proper protocol when handling patients, residents, or incarcerated individuals
Requirements
- A valid Indiana Public Passenger Chauffeur License
- Specialized knowledge of driving straight truck and tractor/trailer road truck
- Specialized knowledge of vehicle laws pertaining to truck and transportation
- Basic knowledge of truck maintenance and repairs
- Ability to supervise proper loading and unloading of trucks
- Ability to drive in all types of weather
- Ability to read maps and understand written directions
- Ability to obtain appropriate vehicle operator license

Pay
The salary for this position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $16.24 but may be commensurate with education and work experience.
