Part-Time Donation Services Associate - Central Park Store

About the role

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand-alone donation centers (ADC). The role provides excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers promptly and assisting with lifting or unloading donations from vehicles or other areas. Associates handle goods with care and ensure donated items are sorted appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions as needed.
• Assist every customer by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
• Ensure donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
• Inspect all donations within assigned areas and make decisions on quality to sort for the sales floor or shipment to other locations.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
• Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers, following opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site. Ensure supplies are well stocked.
• Track and report donation levels daily to prevent trailers from becoming overstocked when working in remote locations.
• Communicate promptly when donation warehouses or trailers are full and a truck is needed.
• Follow all retail center/donation center policies and procedures.
• Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto the truck when necessary.
• Follow all safety processes and procedures to provide a safe working environment.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas; act as a back-up for other areas as required.
• May be required to report to the store ADC or stand-alone center when necessary.
• Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.
• Ability to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
• Basic computer skills to log into systems, order supplies, and send/receive email.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
• Ability to use safety equipment such as a dolly or pallet jack to assist with lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.

Pay

$19.29 per hour.

Schedule

Availability to work evenings and weekends is preferred. The role requires a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
