Position Overview
We’re seeking a responsible, composed, and compassionate Dog Walking Professional to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who values structure, independence, and meaningful work. You’ll visit clients’ homes, walk dogs individually or in small groups, and create calm, enriching experiences tailored to each dog’s needs. Our Dog Walking Professionals are trained in canine body language and handling, and pet first aid — ensuring every walk is safe, serene, and professional.
Location: Franklin, Wrentham, and Norfolk, MA
Position Type: Part-Time (Weekdays, potential to expand to full-time as business grows)
Responsibilities
- Walk and care for up to three dogs at a time, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment
- Customize each visit to meet individual client and dog needs, including walking, playtime, and basic care
- Monitor each dog’s health, behavior, and comfort; promptly report any concerns to management and clients
- Use positive reinforcement and Fear-Free techniques exclusively — no tools or methods designed to cause fear or discomfort
- Provide detailed updates through Pet Pocketbook, including photos, a short video, and a written summary after each visit
- Maintain excellent communication and professionalism with clients, co-workers, and management
- Represent Beyond Dogs LLC in the community and assist with distributing marketing materials
- Handle all dogs and equipment safely, including proper use of a professional-grade, hands-free leash
- Utilize Beyond Dogs LLC’s professional-grade hands-free leash system for optimal safety, maintaining proper fit and technique to ensure secure, ergonomic handling on every walk
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respect in all client interactions
Requirements
- Have or be willing to obtain Pet First Aid & CPR certification
- Fear-Free certification preferred
- Love and be kind to animals
- Comfortable walking dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and manage dogs who may pull suddenly
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record
- Smartphone with data plan and proficiency using apps for scheduling and communication
- Clear background check required
Pay
$19/hr starting rate + tips + mileage reimbursement
Schedule
Weekdays only — no weekends or federal holidays

Working Conditions
Dog Walking Professionals work independently in the field and are supported by management. The role involves frequent walking, driving between clients, exposure to varying weather conditions, and handling dogs of all sizes. You’ll be expected to maintain a calm, composed presence, even when handling strong or excitable dogs — always prioritizing safety, empathy, and client trust.
