Part Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Visiting Angels of Wall is hiring caregivers to serve clients in the Southern Monmouth County area including Tinton Falls, Manasquan, Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Neptune, and more. Join a national network of at-home care providers.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA), licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred to have a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Confident in physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client
• Ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond promptly to changing health conditions
