About the role
Part-Time faculty are an integral part of the College’s staff, helping provide all learners with high-quality learning opportunities when, where, and how they want it. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part-time faculty opportunities in the College of Advanced Manufacturing & Skilled Trades, with a focus on Diesel Medium and Heavy Truck Technology.
This position is located in Green Bay, with courses delivered in a variety of formats. Flexibility in schedule is required for day, night, or weekend classes as needed. The pay rate is $45.00 per class hour contracted.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.
- Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies that foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
- Maintain accurate student records and communication.
- Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals, including being accessible outside of scheduled classroom time.
- Provide educational leadership and work effectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.
- Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation.
- Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.
- Teach courses emphasizing Engines, Brakes, Electrical Systems, Chassis/Suspension/Steering Systems, Hydraulics, Power Train, Refrigeration/AC, and Preventive Maintenance.
- Provide clear Diesel Medium and Heavy Truck Technology pathways and partnerships with secondary education.
- Provide instruction and technical support to NWTC Corporate Training and Economic Development (CTED).
- Work effectively with applicable advisory committees, community groups, faculty, administration, and campus support staff, including CTED, to perform contract work.
- Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.
Requirements
- Technical Diploma in a related area of study.
- ASE Master Certified Technician or Manufacturer Master Technician.
- Five years of related employment experience, with at least one year within the last five years, or two years of post-secondary teaching experience in a related area within the last five years.
- Hands-on working knowledge of diesel medium and heavy truck service industry requirements.
- Experience with OEM-provided service software or other industry customer care management software.
- Must hold a Class A CDL or have the capability to obtain one within one year of employment.
- Employment is conditional on the completion of a background check and drug test with acceptable results.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of licensed Class A commercial driving experience.
- Previous teaching experience with adult learners.
- Demonstrated ability to support student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives.
- Alignment with the College’s values and ability to collaborate effectively across diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Skills
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or attending meetings.
- Mobility to move around campus for meetings and events.
- Manual dexterity for handling office equipment, tools, or controls.
- Visual and auditory ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
