Role Overview
An Assistant Deli Manager supports daily deli operations, leads a team, and ensures excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid the Deli Manager in overseeing high-volume deli activities.
- Lead by example in food preparation, slicing, and serving gourmet deli items.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate team members across various tasks.
- Manage inventory, product rotation, and freshness to reduce waste.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and scheduling to maintain a trained staff.
- Support promotions, in-store events, and ensure proper product labeling and merchandising.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and equipment protocols.
- Create a safe, efficient, and positive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Over 3 years of deli experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a high-energy setting.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and communication).
