About the role

The Customer Relations Associate performs various customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers, handling merchandise, and providing information and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Secure all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
  • Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
  • Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
  • Greet customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
  • Handle customer merchandise returns and complete refund/exchange paperwork.
  • Sort returns by category and return to the proper area.
  • Sell appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
  • Administer all incentive and reward programs.
  • Remain product knowledgeable and aware of advertised sales.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and well-stocked work area.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist customers in making buying decisions by:
    • Identifying and evaluating customers' needs.
    • Making product recommendations.
    • Promoting programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
  • Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
  • Occasionally work in low or high temperatures.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
  • Light work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
