About the role
The Customer Relations Associate performs various customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers, handling merchandise, and providing information and direction.
Responsibilities
- Secure all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks.
- Check in vendor representatives, complete visitor log information, and control visitor badges.
- Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
- Greet customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
- Handle customer merchandise returns and complete refund/exchange paperwork.
- Sort returns by category and return to the proper area.
- Sell appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
- Administer all incentive and reward programs.
- Remain product knowledgeable and aware of advertised sales.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and well-stocked work area.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Assist customers in making buying decisions by:
- Identifying and evaluating customers' needs.
- Making product recommendations.
- Promoting programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Physical Requirements
- Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
- Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
- Constantly repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Occasionally work in low or high temperatures.
- Occasionally work in noisy environments.
- Light work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
