Part Time Customer Service Associate

About the role

The part-time Dollar/Thrifty Customer Service Associate interacts with customers to provide world-class service. This includes flexing into various customer service roles such as assisting customers during vehicle returns, processing rentals at the counter, and ensuring a seamless experience for customers exiting the rental car center.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer service by managing the rental and return process in compliance with Hertz’s policies and procedures.
• Welcome each customer with a smile and represent Hertz professionally in appearance, language, and behavior.
• Ensure every customer receives a clean and safe vehicle.
• Take ownership of each customer’s service experience by resolving issues promptly.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and understand how your role supports Hertz’s success.
• Build brand loyalty by utilizing approved sales and service techniques to identify customer needs.
• Offer optional products to meet customer wants and needs.
• Prepare all rental and return documents accurately and completely.
• Qualify customers using company rental requirement guidelines.
• Assist customers with directions, maps, local area information, and service details.
• Review rental parameters, rates, and service charges with customers to ensure clarity.
• Ensure the return date and time on the rental agreement are accurate.
• Review all charges at the time of vehicle return.
• Prepare the Rental Agreement Folder with all required information.
• Answer phones to assist customers in a friendly, helpful, and prompt manner.
• Resolve customer service issues effectively and coordinate customers within the queue to minimize wait times.

Requirements

• Passion for customer service and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated to achieve and exceed targeted goals.
• Strong computer proficiency, including typing and navigating multiple systems while engaging with customers.
• Proficiency in English; fluency in other languages is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varied tasks.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience working well within a team.
• 100% customer focus with experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Pay

Hourly rate of $15.75 plus commission, with on-target earning potential starting at 2%. Eligible for bonus plans up to 12%.
