Part-time Custodian
About the role
At iPrep, a clean, safe, and orderly environment is essential to learning. Every instructional minute matters—and our Custodian plays a critical role in protecting that time. We are seeking a Part-Time Custodian to support the daily cleanliness, safety, and readiness of our school building. This individual reports to the Dean of School Operations and ensures that all spaces are consistently clean, welcoming, and ready for learning.

Key responsibilities
- Daily Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces. Empty trash and manage waste disposal. Refill soap, paper towels, and sanitizer dispensers.
- Building Readiness: Ensure all spaces are clean and ready for the next school day. Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas.
- Basic Maintenance & Issue Reporting: Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed. Report facility issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Inventory & Supply Management: Monitor cleaning supplies and notify leadership of needs.
- Event & End-of-Day Responsibilities: Assist with setup and breakdown for school events (as needed). Support daily closing procedures (reset spaces, secure building if applicable).
Required qualifications
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred (school setting a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must pass a background check in compliance with Alabama state law

Pay & schedule
This is a four-hour-per-day, hourly position at $13.00 per hour and does not include benefits. Compensation is based on a flat hourly rate and is not negotiable. Custodians are paid for all hours worked in accordance with their scheduled shifts. We are hiring for an immediate start date.
