About the Role
The Cat Scan Technician performs a variety of CT procedures, prioritizing patient care and ensuring high-quality imaging. They assist radiologists, operate and maintain equipment, administer contrast agents, and follow radiation safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Position patients and anatomical parts for scans
- Prepare and verify equipment
- Administer contrast media via venipuncture
- Ensure proper patient preparation
- Maintain sterile techniques
- Troubleshoot equipment and manage supplies
- Ensure smooth workflow and document procedures accurately
- Input studies into computer systems
- Assist in patient scheduling
- Provide patient education and support student technologists
- Participate in shift rotations, trainings, and educational in-services
- Follow department policies and adapt to changing responsibilities
- Maintain ethical standards and contribute positively to team dynamics
Requirements
- At least three years of hospital experience
- Valid New Jersey license
- ARRT certification
- CT certification within 12-24 months
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within six months
- Technical proficiency and attention to safety
- Ability to collaborate professionally with hospital staff
