About the Role
A Cat Scan Technician performs a variety of CT scan procedures, prioritizing patient care and ensuring high-quality imaging.
Responsibilities
- Position patients and anatomical parts according to protocols
- Prepare and operate equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
- Administer contrast agents under physician supervision and practice sterile techniques
- Protect patients and staff from radiation exposure
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and documentation accurately
- Manage patient scheduling and ensure smooth workflow
- Ensure quality control of scans and proper image processing
- Use hospital computer systems for study entry, tracking, and documentation
- Assist in training student technologists and evaluate their performance
- Participate in shift rotations, including weekends and on-call duties
Requirements
- Minimum three years hospital experience preferred
- State of New Jersey License and ARRT certification required
- CT certification within 12-24 months of hire
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within six months
- Ability to operate imaging equipment independently and follow protocols
