Part-Time Creative Arts Therapist, Project STAR (15 Hours per Week)

Overview

The Overview Part-Time Creative Arts Therapist position is available 15 hours per week at a competitive rate of $38.49 per hour. This role is part of a nationally recognized comprehensive Health and Human Services Agency serving over 33,000 New Yorkers annually.

Responsibilities

• Interviews clients and collaborates with staff and other health experts to understand clients’ psychotherapeutic needs.
• Develops a creative arts treatment process for clients.
• Develops activities for various creative arts groups.
• Evaluates through observation the responses of clients to assigned therapies.
• Provides a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering environment to clients and staff.
• Works collaboratively with staff and community agencies to facilitate the delivery of service.
• Administers evaluations and assessments and completes safety and goal plans with clients.
• Maintains case records for individual and group clients in accordance with Agency policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Creative Art Therapy
• NYS LCAT licensure
• At least two years of prior experience in a comparable setting working with substance use disorders/mental illness clients.
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
