Description Of Major Job Duties
- Maintains the safety of in-custody defendants and juveniles.
- Enforces state laws and takes appropriate police action upon request or observation of criminal activity.
- Provides security for judges, litigants, and visitors to ensure orderly and efficient court proceedings.
- Assists with building, perimeter, and public security as well as public screenings.
- Provides courtroom security for judges, litigants, and visitors to ensure orderly and efficient court proceedings.
- Handcuffs, arrests, detains, and transports prisoners within the court building.
- Maintains control and order in difficult situations.
- Works cooperatively with other police agencies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- MCOLES certification or certifiable.
- Completion of Police Academy.
- Completion of annual Wayne County Sheriff online police training updates.
- Driver’s License and good driving record.
- A pre-employment medical examination, including a drug screen, is required.
- Candidates must meet MCOLES/MSCTC standards.
Pay
$35.00 per hour
