Part Time Courier/Driver

About the role

Drive a company vehicle for the American Red Cross, picking up, delivering, and storing blood products and lightweight materials. Perform additional transport or loading duties to support ARC Blood Services. Provide customer service and maintain vehicle condition.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle for delivery of blood products and materials safely and within traffic laws.
• Prepare for deliveries by verifying orders, loading vehicles, and maintaining route supply inventory.
• Document temporary storage and transportation of blood, blood products, and materials per regulatory requirements.
• Provide customer service by giving basic information and interacting positively with employees.
• Maintain vehicle condition by cleaning and checking fluid and gas levels.
• Provide shipping and receiving support as directed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Frequently lift and/or move objects 10–50 lbs unassisted.
• Frequently push carts weighing up to 100 lbs on flat flooring or ramps.
• Frequently stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust and focus.
• Ability to withstand temperatures in a typical blood banking environment including refrigerators and freezers.
• Position may require climbing of step ladders.
• Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.

Schedule

Monday–Friday 6:00 PM – 11:30 PM with on‑call overnight and weekends.

Pay

$16.00 per hour plus applicable shift differentials.
